Preparing for Mrs. Universe

The countdown to Mrs. Universe is on, and the excitement is palpable! For veterans, pageant enthusiasts, and supporters of PTSD awareness alike, this event represents more than just a competition; it’s a celebration of strength, resilience, and beauty in all its forms.

Every great pageant contestant knows that mastering your walk is crucial. The elegant glide down the runway is not just about looking graceful—it’s about commanding attention and exuding confidence. Something that I very much struggled with having come from a background where I have been marching with straight arms for the last 16 years!

Packing for Mrs. Universe is no small feat. With outfits, accessories, and personal items, staying organized is essential to ensure nothing is left behind. Considering packing for the field has taught me less is more, this is quick the opposite experience. Even with most of my travels I try my best to pack everything in a carry on, so having multiple suitcases is outside my comfort zone!

Behind the scenes, meetings with stylists, coaches, and organizers are pivotal to a successful pageant experience. Each meeting is an opportunity to refine your presentation and align on the messaging you wish to convey.

Preparing for Mrs. Universe is as much about mental preparation as it is about physical appearance. It’s a personal journey of growth and self-discovery. One of the top 10 most important things I’ll be bringing with me is my journal. This is how I plan on practicing mindfulness, as well as taking note of some of my favourite memorable moments.

By preparing thoroughly and mindfully, you’re not only setting yourself up for success but also paving the way for others who look up to you as a role model. Mrs. Universe is an event that unites us all in celebration and awareness.
